Brick House: The Best Cigars for the Price | LM Cigars

When cigar enthusiasts talk about getting great quality without spending a fortune, one name consistently on the top: Brick House Cigars. Crafted by the legendary J.C. Newman Cigar Co., Brick House has earned a cult following for delivering premium construction, rich flavor, and remarkable consistency at a value that few competitors can even come close to.

Whether you’re a seasoned aficionado or a casual smoker looking for a dependable everyday cigar, Brick House consistently proves that you do not need to spend premium prices to enjoy a premium smoking experience.

The Story Behind Brick House Cigars

The Brick House story originates with Julius Caesar Newman, founder of J.C. Newman Cigar Co., America’s oldest family-owned premium cigar company. The original Brick House brand was introduced in 1937 and was inspired by the brick house where Newman was born in Hungary. In his small village, it was the only brick house around and served as a place for family and friends.

Although the brand faded away for decades, Brick House was revived in 2009 by third-generation owners Eric Newman and Bobby Newman. Their goal was simple: create a premium handmade cigar with outstanding flavor and craftsmanship at a value price point. The result was a modern success story that quickly became one of the best-selling value-premium cigar brands in the cigar industry.

Today, Brick House cigars are handmade at the PENSA cigar factory in Nicaragua and continue to embody the same principles that helped make the Brick House brand famous: quality, consistency, and value.

The Original Brick House Blend: The Foundation of Success

The cigar that started the modern Brick House resurgence remains one of the best buys in the premium cigar market.

The Brick House Classic features a hearty Ecuadorian Havana Subido wrapper surrounding a carefully selected blend of Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The result is a perfect medium-bodied smoke with notes of cedar, earth, pepper, nuts, and subtle sweetness.

What makes the original Brick House so appealing is its balance. It provides enough complexity to satisfy experienced smokers while remaining approachable for newer enthusiasts. The construction is consistently excellent, producing an even burn, firm ash, and effortless draw that rivals cigars costing significantly more.

For many cigar smokers, Brick House Classic represents the ideal everyday cigar. It delivers premium quality without premium pricing, making it easy to keep a box in the humidor year-round.

Why Cigar Smokers Love the Original Brick House

Rich Nicaraguan tobacco flavor
Consistent construction and burn
Excellent value for the money
Available in numerous popular sizes, including the Traveler (Tubo)
Medium-bodied profile suitable for most smokers

This dedication of quality and affordability helped Brick House become one of the most recognized value-premium brands in the cigar industry.

Brick House Maduro: The Fan Favorite

If there is one cigar in the lineup that has developed an especially loyal following, it is the Brick House Maduro.

Using the same acclaimed Nicaraguan filler blend found in the Classic, Brick House Maduro is finished with a dark Brazilian Arapiraca Maduro wrapper. This wrapper adds layers of sweetness, earth, cocoa, espresso, and spice, creating a fuller-bodied experience while maintaining the smooth balance that defines the brand.

Maduro lovers appreciate that Brick House avoids becoming overly strong or bitter. Instead, it delivers rich flavor, complexity, and sweetness in perfect harmony.

For smokers who enjoy darker cigars, Brick House Maduro often competes favorably with brands costing considerably more. It offers premium Maduro characteristics without the premium price tag, making it one of the best values in the category.

The Legendary Mighty Mighty Size

Among all Brick House offerings, few vitolas have achieved the popularity of the Mighty Mighty.

Measuring approximately 6 1/4 x 60, the Mighty Mighty provides an exceptionally long and satisfying smoking experience. It allows the blend’s flavors to develop gradually while delivering a cool, smooth draw throughout the smoke.

The Brick House Maduro Mighty Mighty has become particularly sought after among cigar enthusiasts who enjoy large-ring-gauge cigars. The extra tobacco helps showcase the rich Nicaraguan filler blend while the Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper contributes bold flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, black pepper, and sweetness.

Many smokers specifically seek out the Maduro Mighty Mighty because it provides:

Exceptional smoking time
Rich Maduro flavor
Outstanding value
Consistent performance
A satisfying experience

For those looking for a 60-ring cigar that won’t break the budget, the Brick House Maduro Mighty Mighty remains one of the best choices on the market.

Brick House Double Connecticut: Smooth Without Sacrificing Flavor

In 2017, Brick House expanded its lineup with the introduction of the Brick House Double Connecticut blend. Rather than creating a mild cigar that lacked character, J.C. Newman crafted a blend that offered smoothness alongside substantial flavor.

The Double Connecticut combines:

Connecticut Shade wrapper
Connecticut Broadleaf binder
Nicaraguan fillers

This unique combination creates a cigar with a creamy profile supported by subtle spice, pepper, cedar, and natural sweetness.

While many Connecticut-wrapped cigars focus solely on mildness, Double Connecticut delivers considerably more depth and complexity than smokers typically expect from the category. The result is a versatile cigar that appeals to both newcomers and experienced enthusiasts looking for a smooth daytime smoke.

Like the Classic (Red Box) and Maduro (Black Box), the Double Connecticut (Green Box) is offered in several sizes, including the ever-popular Mighty Mighty.

Award-Winning Cigars with Exceptional Ratings

One of the strongest arguments for Brick House being the best cigar for the price is the recognition the brand has received from industry experts.

Cigar Aficionado Magazine has consistently praised each Brick House blend for their performance, flavor, and value. The publication notes that the brand became especially popular because cigar smokers were looking for premium quality at affordable prices.

The original Brick House line, Brick House Maduro, and Brick House Double Connecticut have all earned solid ratings and positive reviews from cigar critics. The brand has repeatedly demonstrated that a cigar does not need a luxury price tag to deliver a luxury smoking experience.

Additionally, Brick House cigars have received numerous industry accolades and have been featured prominently in annual rankings and reviews, further solidifying their reputation among cigar enthusiasts.

This recognition is especially noteworthy because Brick House competes against brands that often cost substantially more per cigar.

Why Brick House Delivers the Best Value in Premium Cigars

When evaluating a cigar’s value, smokers should consider several factors:

Flavor
Construction

Convenient Samplers, Fresh Pack Bags, and Gift Boxes

Brick House excels in every category.
