What is La Unica?
La Unica is a Dominican handmade cigar with authentic Connecticut wrappers and select aged Dominican long filler tobaccos. These cigars tend to have smaller ring gauges and very long lengths.
History of La Unica
La Unica was a brand of Tampa handmade cigars. Manufactured by Cuesta-Rey Cigar Co., La Unica was a Cuban puro “Havana clear” cigar enjoyed by millions of Americans in its heyday. Popularity of the cigar tapered after the Cuban Embargo and it was out of production until the 1980’s. In 1986, Stanford Newman resurrected the brand with the help of Carlos Fuente, Sr. The two men worked together to make a blend of tobaccos which could be enjoyed everyday for a relaxing smoking experience. The cigar has enjoyed critical success ever since, flying off shelves.
