Like all Ashton cigars, the Ashton 8-9-8 delivers the brand’s signature smooth, refined profile. It offers excellent flavor, an easy draw, and a surprisingly even burn. I typically prefer cigars with a larger ring gauge, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well this cigar performed, making it an enjoyable 30-minute smoke.
The Ashton Churchill remains my preference. It is exceptionally smooth—almost silky on the palate—with a very mild, refined flavor that is easy to appreciate from start to finish.
Overall, while I still favor the Churchill, the Ashton 8-9-8 impressed me enough that I will definitely keep several in my humidor as an alternative go-to cigar when I want a shorter, relaxing smoke.
