Dona Lydia is a brand that was created to showcase Oliva’s exquisite tobacco offerings. The foundation of any great cigar is the tobacco used to create it. The Oliva Tobacco company entered the market in 1934 with the founder Angel Oliva Sr. The Oliva Tobacco company is primarily focused on agricultural cultivation (Not to be confused with Oliva Cigar Co.). When the Oliva Tobacco Company created the Dona Lydia cigar, they spared no expense assembling a cigar blend from the very best stock of their formidable tobacco reserves. The Don Lydia Label is presented under the Excelsior Tobacco name in partnership with Raul Disla. For this project, the family has released only their most exclusive and highly desired tobacco offerings.

Types of Dona Lydia Cigars

Dona Lydia is currently offered in four main varieties, this would be the Robusto, Toro, Corona, and Torpedo. There is a size for any kind of smoker regardless of preferences. There is a Dona Lydia perfectly hand-crafted for any occasion/celebration!

 

Dona Lydia Natural

The filler blend features rich Nicaragua tobaccos from the Oliva’s farm, La Joya (The Jewel) in Estelí. A splash of aromatic Olor tobacco from the Dominican Republic and earthy Corojo from Honduras. All are married together to lend a complex yet balanced smoke.

 

A grade of Connecticut Broadleaf usually reserved for wrapper is used for the binder to harmonize the blend and impart subtle sweetness.

 

The wrapper is grown on reserve acreage at the Oliva’s aptly named farm “La Lydia” in Ecuador. Aged and delicately fermented “Centro Ligero” priming Ecuador Sumatra renowned for its white pepper undertones and cacao dark chocolate bouquet swathes the Doña Lydia and represents the apex of the Oliva’s crowning expertise.
