What is Joya De Nicaragua?

If Nicaragua had superheroes from the tobacco industry, the first would be Simón Camacho and Juan Francisco Bermejo. This duo fled their native Cuba like many others in their time, seeking opportunities in other lands. They found fields rich in nutrients and deep soils in Estelí, Condega and Jalapa; they agreed to pay workers to help them grow and harvest. They set up facilities in the center of Estelí to process tobacco. And so, the first days of the Nicaragua Cigar Company, as Joya de Nicaragua was originally called, began.  50 years ago, Joya entered the industry by producing the first premium cigars exported from Nicaragua. Currently, Joya de Nicaragua is the most internationally recognized Nicaraguan brand, with a presence in more than 50 countries, and growing…
