Brand: El Reloj
El Reloj is the largest, commercially available machine-made cigar on the consumer market. At a whopping eight inches long, this double corona sized cigar is one for the golf course. This cigar is one of the finest cigars produced in J.C. Newman’s historic cigar factory. The historic cigar factory, named El Reloj for its massive clocktower, has been the cigar manufacturer’s home since 1954. Today, the factory boasts a wide portfolio of handmade and machine-made cigars. The largest of these cigars is El Reloj, in honor of the building. This cigar pays homage to the cigar industry which built Tampa and made it Cigar City. Tampa was home to hundreds of cigar factories at one point. All these cigar factories had nicknames, such as El Reloj. Another mark of historicity, the machines which manufacture these cigars were built in the 1930’s. These machines were utilized by J.C. Newman Cigar Co. in Cleveland and brought to Tampa in the 1950’s. The same machines which once manufactured Rigoletto or Cuesta-Rey now manufacture El Reloj. This cigar is a phenomenal cigar for its price point. It has a Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with Dominican and Nicaraguan aged short filler. It has a spicy, silky sweetness and is a medium-bodied cigar. This cigar comes in a box of twenty-five. This is the best cigar in the J.C. Newman portfolio for the nexus of value, quality, construction, and burn time. This is a cigar best enjoyed with friends during an activity, such as golfing or fishing.
